Suzuki GSX & GS Range

This page covers the GSX & GS range of motorcycles that had the ELECTRONIC ADVANCE AND MECHANICAL ADVANCE ANALOGUE IGNITION. We cover models built from 1979 (when points operated ignitions were changed to analogue electronic ignitions ) to 1987 (when analogue electronic ignitions were phased out and replaced with digital ignitions )

What do we mean by Electronic advance?
What do we mean by Mechanical advance?

We have listed the year the model started and ended approximately with this ignition type but some countries could have earlier start and later stop dates. Also the GS designation was dropped when they changed to the GSX TSCC 16 valve head but some countries still retained the GS designation.
